The King Room gets even more upgrades

The new keypad If there’s anything we like doing at Avatar, it’s upgrading. The only problem is that we’ve upgraded so much around our shop lately that we’re running out of stuff that isn’t already top notch.

Even so, we’ve been down in the trenches this week working on our King Room. We’ve totally reworked the power situation so that every watt is sparkling clean. You won’t hear any clicks, pops, or hums. That is, unless your drummer is hitting his tom mic with a stick. They do that sometimes.

Mark inspects the door install Also new is a shiny metal door. This thing is heavier than our friends Mastodon’s latest record (that record is called Crack the Skye, by the way, and it’s incredible), and it uses technology developed for the latest Star Trek movie. Our friends over at Overhead Door installed it for us today and it looks excellent.

Okay the Star Trek thing is a bit of a stretch, but it does have a swanky keypad that allows our guests to come and go as they please. They can also seal themselves off totally from the rest of the shop if they like and focus on their rehearsals with their own lounge, kitchen, and bathroom facilities.

And hey, if you want to march through the door after you’ve entered your personal code and start barking orders to Bones or Uhuru, we won’t mind. We like a little style.

We can even get you someone to answer as Bones or Uhuru!

Don’t be a stranger. Come on by 471 Glen Iris Drive in the heart of Atlanta and check out what we have going on.

By the way, a cheesy space-themed pun (like “It’s out of this world!” or something “boldy go” related) would fit so nicely here but we’re better than that.
